The White House is beautiful enough covered in snow, but it is even more lovely WHILE IT IS STILL SNOWING!
Not for the faint of heart, this new "photo Snowfari" (thanks to client Cayce Ramey for this clever title!) will take you through Lafayette Park and the White House area in the midst of a winter snowstorm, one of the prettiest scenes you will ever capture in your camera. Architectural photographer and Washington Photo Safari director E. David Luria will show you how use your camera’s white balance, ISO and and exposure settings to get some gorgeous photos of the soft snow settling gently on the shoulders of the Andrew Jackson statue, with the White House and Washington Monument in the background, how to capture the undisturbed snow-covered scenes of the nearby Hay Adams Hotel, St. Johns Church, the Old Executive Office Building, and the American Red Cross building, in color OR in black and white, photos that can look as if they were taken in a previous century.
We have timed this Safari to occur during a predicted oncoming snowstorm. If you enjoy suffering for your art, THIS Safari is for you! If you are insane enough to join us, you WILL get wet, but you can protect yourself and your camera with an umbrella and the sun shade that came with your camera lens, plus a clear sandwich bag to cover the camera body. (Bring a red or yellow umbrella and your fellow Safarians will be indebted to you for the lovely color accent your umbrella will bring to their photos!)
Washington Photo Safari uses the beautiful landmarks of the nation's capital to provide multilingual instruction in landmark and travel photography. If you love taking pictures and want to learn how to take better pictures, the Washington Photo Safari is for you!
